In today's cut-throat business world, entrepreneurs find it difficult finding potential clients while some few are able to get clients easily after submitting their business proposal. The power to get clients lie in the ability of your proposal to attract the clients interest.
The Basics of Writing a Business Proposal
There are two (2) types of business proposal namely solicited business proposals and unsolicited business proposal.
A solicited business proposal is written in response to an advertisement published by a buyer or client while an unsolicited business proposal is submitted to potential clients or buyers even though they are not requesting for any one.
There are three (3) P's in writing a business proposal there are: Proposed problem, Proposed solution, Proposed pricing. Always put your self in d shoes of the investor when writing a business proposal. Ask your self this question; will I Invest in this business if I were to be the investor?
#1. Proposed Problem
This is the statement of the problem; the problem your goods or service will solve and to persuade your client that you have the solution. It must be able to describe your client's needs.
Consider these two proposed problems.
a. " Company A wants their logo and website redesigned to give customers a new feel about their product and entice new ones".
b. "Due to the drastic increase in competition, company A is will give their customers a new look about their company by redesigning the company's logo and website to create a fresh appeal about the company".
Take a minute ans compare the two proposals. Which one do you will go for if you are the investor? I guess we will both go for proposal "b".
Your proposal must make your client have a strong feeling that you understand his/her problem. If you can't state the problem properly, how will you claim you have the solution.
#2. Proposed Solution.
Since you now know the problem, you should be able to propose a solution that is business centric.
Consider these two proposed solutions.
a. " We recommend a complete redesign of existing logo and website. This include adding more features yo the website".
b. "The market campaigns will be created using social media tactics added to the website to keep customers updated on products, services and media events organized by the company."
Like the proposed problem, Solution "b" will be the best presentable proposed solution to your client.
#3 Proposed Pricing.
The pricing information is what will make them decide whether they would offer the service or not for many clients. How to write the pricing depends on the proposed solution you discussed in previous segments. Make the pricing information simple and easy to understand.
After Thoughts
Although business proposals have carries the dame information and layout, do your own research and make your own unique.
Do your research about your your client, your competitors, and your clients customer. This will ensure your proposal will be comprehensive and detailed as possible.
Put your self in your client's shoes. Are you going to pay for that services if you were your client.
Ask your self this question; why me? Why do you want your client to invest in you. Highlight your talent, skills and finished works.
There are business proposal software you can use. Develop your skills, lay your hands on them.
