Moving Beyond The Grasp Of Past Failures

One thing you need to understand is that failing is finite. Not acting after failing makes it final. Each failure comes with a lesson for you to learn. Sometimes you fail in order to succeed. These are five steps to quickly move beyond past failures.

You can't make positive choices for the rest of your life without an environment that makes those choices easy, natural, and enjoyable. -Deepak Chopra

Moving Beyond The Grasp Of Past Failures

1. Taking Your Failure As A Lesson

What really matters is not you failing but your attitude after failure. Are you going to bounce back or are you accepting your failure as being final. Everybody the world celebrates as at one time in the past failed. Thomas Edison failed thousands of times before his electric bulb finally worked. Your story too can be like his.

Take your failure as a correction to what won't work. Learn ways to prevent it from happening again.

2.  Don't Blame Others For Your Failure

Don't waste your precious time and emotional strength blaming others for your failure. Take responsibility for your own actions. No one has ever become successful by blaming others for their failure. Owning up to your own errors is the first step to success.

3.  Change Your Routine

Champions are not made in the ring, the are recognized there. You don't expect new results when you still do the same thing. You will keep failing if you continue with your old routine. Change your routine, change your life.

4. Perform Periodic Check on Yourself

You can be working hard but not moving forward. Hard work can be vain work if it is not adding value to people. Periodically checking yourself allows you to check your level of productivity. You could just have re-branded what made you fail without knowing. Regularly checking allows you to know if you are actualizing your goals.

5. Be Accountable To Someone

Accountability brings about growth. Performing periodic checks on yourself is good but it might not be good enough. You can be walking but moving in circles. You may be blind to see that you are still on the same path to failure but by being accountable to someone, the person checks if you are moving forward or moving backwards.

Being accountable to someone is not being weak, it is being smart enough to make your actions to be checked by someone who is after your personal growth. Every great leader was at one time a great follower. Make yourself accountable to someone who you trust and is responsible.
